Acupuncture is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It is effective, safe and side effects free. In Chinese, the word of acupuncture includes two words “zhen” “jiu”. “zhen” means needles and “jiu” means moxibustion. The needles treat and prevent
Disease by insertion of fine needles into the body at specific points showed as effective in the treatment of specific health problems. These points have been mapped by Chinese physicians over a period of two thousand years.

Moxibustion treats and prevents disease by applying heating on the points or certain locations of the human body. The material used is mainly “moxa-wool” in the form of a cone or stick. For centuries, acupuncture and moxibustion have been combined in clinical practice. They may apply together or separate.

Modern Western medicine cannot explain how acupuncture works. Traditional acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of Qi (energy) and Xue (blood) through distinct meridians or pathways that cover the body somewhat like the nerves and blood vessels do. According to ancient theory, acupuncture allows Qi to flow to areas where it is deficient and away from where it is excess. In this way, acupuncture regulates and restores the harmonious energetic balance of the body. In Chinese there is a saying, “There is no pain if there is free flow; if there is pain, there is no free flow.”

In Asian, acupuncture is used widely in many varieties of diseases. That is from flu to tumors, from head to toe, from viscera to skin problems. At Jing’s Acupuncture the acupuncture is suitable for treating the following:

1. Nervous System and Muscular Disorders
   Headaches, migraines, certain facial paralysis or nerve pain, neck pain, Numbness and tingling, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, knee pain, sprain ankle, sciatica, low back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatic or rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
2. Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system
   Unstable angina, arrhythmia, hypertension, stroke and, partial weakness after a stroke.
3. Ear, Nose, Eyes and Throat Disorders
   Toothache pain after tooth extraction, earaches, tinnitus, sinus inflammation, Inflammation of the conjunctiva, inflammation of the central retina, nearsightedness (in children), and uncomplicated cataracts.

   Uncomplicated bronchial asthma in children or adults.
5. Gastrointestinal disorders
   Digestive tract problems, hiccups inflammation of the stomach, chronic duodenal ulcers, inflammation of the colon, constipation, diarrhea and dysentery caused by certain bacteria.
6. Others: Nephritis, diabetes, quit smocking, control weight, Insomnia, dysmenorrhoea, menorrhagia, Menostasis, menopause syndrome, pre-menstrual tension. Chronic fatigue syndrome, support treatment for cancer patients with radiotherapy and chemotherapy Also for post surgery recovery.

At Jing’s Acupuncture you will receive an examination in the way of TCM for differentiation of your diseases. Acupuncture; electronic acupuncture; seven star needles, Tui Na; Cupping; herb external treatment is all available. You may receive one or more kinds of treatment. That will depend on the nature of the problem and your constitution. Invigorated Tui Na is also available. This is used for invigoration body; reduce stress and prevention of diseases.

You may note a spot of blood at one or more of the needle sites and /or a small bruise could develop. These should not be harmful, but please talk to me if you are concerned. Patients often experience the most dramatic results after the first treatment. Some patients experience an immediate total or partial relief of their pain or other symptoms.
This relief may last but some pain may return. In few cases, there may be no immediate relief only to notice the pain diminish over the next couple of days. Generally, you should expect to feel better.

That depends upon the duration, severity, and nature of you complaint. You may need only a single treatment for an acute condition. A series of five to fifteen treatments may resolve many chronic problems. Some degenerative conditions may require many treatments over time.
